Hopefully, if all has gone well, I am on an airplane somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean, nomming on peanuts or attempting to sleep. (I love being able to schedule posts).
This has nothing to do whatsoever with weight loss or exercise or running, but I saw this video on YouTube on Wednesday, and can I just say, it’s things like this that make me consider moving back to Korea? We just don’t make boy bands like this anymore!
I am such a nerd for Korean pop music. ❤
For those of you who know me well, you know that I *love* terribly cheesy movies, music, and music videos. I love any Sci-Fy (is that what it’s called now?) movie with sharks, piranhas, natural disasters, bees….and the less money spent on special effects, the better. When “Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus” was released on DVD, I had a party. Seriously.
As for music, well…let’s just say I wouldn’t wish my iPod on anyone. Sure, I have some really great music on there. I also have some really cheesy music on there. What can I say? I love it.
Music videos are no exception. Snoop Dogg’s “Sensual Seduction” held the honour of being my fave for a long time. The song is catchy and the video is absolutely ridiculous. For those of you who have never seen it…I personally believe it’s mandatory music video watching. A-ma-zing.
Well, my friends…the unthinkable has happened. Snoop has been overthrown.
Katy Perry now has the most ridiculously awesome music video out there. This song made it’s way onto my workout playlist when it first came out, and when I saw the video a few days ago, it became clear that it’s a special kind of awesome.
Maybe it’s the wig? Maybe it’s the image of Snoop as King of the Gummy people? Maybe it’s the melting popsicle? Maybe I’m getting all nostalgic over the Candyland-like imagery? Maybe it’s the fact that she can spray whipped cream all over the ding dang place without cracking up at the ridiculousness of it all? Or maybe all the food just makes me hungry? Well, whatever it is, it’s awesome. You go, Katy Perry. Keep me in workout music!
So, my mom has satellite radio, and I sometimes find myself listening to the BBC Radio whatever station. I like to pretend I’m in England and drinking lots of tea and watching Eastenders. Yeah….it’s kind of pitiful. I’m fully aware that my love of all things English is a bit strange, but come on. How can I not love a place with princes who wear those badass hats (see link), and real, honest-to-goodness CASTLES? (I totally want to get married there. At that castle. And you might notice, if you go to the website, that there is a “Weddings” page, so don’t think for a second that I haven’t investigated this thoroughly. And I want a string quartet and swans. And my fiance in one of the aforementioned hats.)
Anyway, they play lots of current hits, both English and American. Sadly, sometimes I find myself digging a song, only to find that iTunes US doesn’t have it!
Boo and hiss.
This is one such song:
I heard it back in the fall and loooved it. I have no idea who these guys are, but all I knew was that I had to have it for my gym playlist. (That I wasn’t exercising AT ALL is beside the point, really.) I checked on iTunes…not there.
Fast forward 6 months. It’s totally there. It has been added to my library, and as soon as I find iPpy McSkinny, (I think he ran away in protest…I was thinking about switching to my brother’s shuffle for running now, since I don’t have the start and stop running/walking thing going on anymore, now that I’m on week 8, ) I will add it to the C25K playlist.
